I seem, out of nowhere, to have just found on the floor a diary for 1991, containing important dates, telephone numbers, a calendar of events ... and a brief history of the Beatles.
I know matter finds its way into the Universe in random forms, but this is ridiculous...
[talking of which, I was discussing one aspect of Sock Theory with my boss - the theory that missing sock are used to plug the gaps which otherwise form black holes. He also noted that teaspoons follow a similar matter out of the observable Universe.
We have therefore determined that the fundaental structure of the quantum Universe - the weft, if you will - is a lattice of teaspoons holding a infinite layer of socks.
Suddenly, the world becomes a little clearer]
Further sidebar - I just looked up "sock theory" on Wikipedia, and was slightly surprised to discover no page existed. The top 4 suggestions by relevance were:
1) finite set
2) Axion of Choice
3) EPR Paradox
4) Bristol Rovers FC
Go figure.
