What a joy to watch a programme recollecting World of Sport. To hear the classified results read out once more in Brian Colston's inimitable tones. To see Evil Knievel doing his thing. To be reminded of those none-more-70's graphics.
And above all to see, white-haired now but still debonair, the one and only Dickie Davies.
Yes, ladies and gentlemen, for one night only ... The Badger Is Back!
And with a genuine 70's set, complete with leggy lovelies in the background typing up somethign frightfully important...
[The programme only comes unstuck, incidentally, when it tries to seriously pretend that World of Sport was a better programme than Grandstand. Grandstand was a sports show, World of Sport was cabaret, but no less enjoyable for that.]
