[this post brought to you by being about two-thirds of the way through Rebecca. It's very well written, and atmospheric, but the heroine drives me up the wall. Absolutely everything sends her squirrelling off into the trees of memory or imagination. Compared to her, Proust was a clam.
I've just reached The Big Revelation. As Big Revelations go, it's not bad, though it could probably do with more ninjas]
