Mozart's Horn Concertos and "Puckoon" by Spike Milligan may make apparently uneasy bedfellows, but they do work surprisingly well together.

Since I still seem bent on the lazy option for today, I now have to decide what to read next, having just dispensed with the latter half of Puckoon at a sitting. Part of me is minded to charge headlong at His Dark Materials, and see how far I can get in one day - another part is tempted by the sheltering and warm-zephyred world of Arthur Ransome.

So no doubt I'll end up reading another Pratchett...
Having said which, I have just felt the tug of the meticulously-created world of Susanna Clarke calling me again - winter is the perfect time to re-read Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell. That'll be the next couple of week's reading sorted out then ;-)
Hello Gilbert Norrell. Hello John Childermass. Hello even, Christopher Drawlight.

Goodbye real world. See you around.
If the title below causes you to think "You what?", then it's probably not worth pursuing. It may also indicate that you are under thirty, and/or had an active childhood, you lucky things.
