Given what a splendid word it is, why is it that only with winter driving conditions does one see the word "treacherous" being used?

Surely we could find other newsworthy uses for this finest of words? Especially with Tony Blair in charge...
There is a particular kind of faintly ill feeling I get from sitting for a few hours with most of my body under a duvet, but my head sticking out into my unheated living-room. Sort of prickling heat, aches, and generally quite strange.

When the people upstairs came back in, and the music came on just loud enough to disrupt my watching of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith (not difficult - more utterly fatuous eye-candy), I decided it's time to give up. The heater in the bedroom is on full blast, and the duvet with me beneath it is about to migrate back there.

I reckon it's pretty damned cold out there - cold enough that I have intention of going out to investigate, at any rate...

Yawn.
