Possibly a work do and a wedding in 24 hours was a bit much. I've survived thus far, but I think it's time to collapse onto the sofa in front of something completely mindless...

Listening to the Shortwave Set album. Still not sure - may need to give it some time to grow on me. Certainly less immediate than the Magic Numbers (but then, most things are)

After an unexpectde visitation, I am now even more zonked than I was before.

However, I now hjave a Plan. I'm going to watch some of the Rock n Roll Years.

For the 99.8% of the population who are unaware of the show, the Rock n Roll Years were a sequence of programmes made in the mid-80's, each one for a particular year from 1956 to 1971, showing footage of news stories and cultural trends to a soundtrack of the popular hits of the day. They are wonderfully enjoyable, and often quite informative television, and it annoys me greatly that they have never been released on video or DVD. The only things which can grate is that they were made at the time when computer graphics were just invading television, so some of the effects are redolent of Top of the Pops...
