"And answer came there none, as they say in the saloon bars"
[Jeffrey Bernard is Unwell]
It's strange to think that the cry of "Help", slowed down sufficiently, sounds no different to anything else. It's only over time, when you look at the glacial patterns of the soundwaves in monumental cadence over hours, days and years, that you can decipher the message. And by then, of course, it's usually too late.
I will think of something cheery to say soon, honest.
Probably a combination of a day at work, my boss turning up and managing to infuriate me even on a Sunday, then coming home and watching "X-Men" (not Hollywood's finest hour, really), followed by reading "Watchmen" (very good, but not the happiest reading material) was a bit much for one day.
You can tell - I've just been watching the video to "Confide In Me", and the irony has shot over my head like Sputnik.
"Some day when my heart exhales
I will tell you everything"
[Hem, "Stupid Mouth Shut"]
East Anglia is due a heavy fall of snow tonight. We can but live in hope - snow cleans us out, and melting runs away all our ills. And it stops the trains running, which might be rather nice...
